Dutch journalist released
NEWS CENTER (DİHA) - Ebru Umar, columnist for the Dutch Metro newspaper who was detained over “insulting president” has been released.
Ebru Umar, who was detained over calling President Tayyip Erdoğan “dictator” on her article and twitter account has been released. Detained upon instruction in Kuşadası, Umar spent the night in Kuşadası Police Department Security Bureau. She had tweeted that police came for custody and took her to the hospital at that moment on her official Twitter account has been referred to court in the noon hours. Interrogated by Public Prosecution Office, Umar has been sent to Court of Peace on duty.
She has been released on judicial control decision and imposed a ban on leaving the country.
