KJA: Öcalan is the chief negotiator

After its Amed (Diyarbakır ) meeting on June 20, KJA Permanent Council released a declaration that emphasized the need for starting negotiations in a way that ensures PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s freedom and security.
'Labour of women's freedom movement'
In its declaration, KJA described HDP’s electoral success as the success of all peoples in Turkey, and condemned the murder and injury of several civilians during the election process. KJA pointed out that HDP’s egalitarian representation model has inspired women’s movement all across the globe, and described the high level of women’s election into the parliament as the labor of women’s freedom movement.
KJA stated that the election results show Turkish peoples’ approval of the Democratic Nation perspective, and said that the path to democracy and freedom can only be paved through women’s participation in politics. KJA praised the revolutionary initiatives of radical democracy that enabled the liberation of Girê Spi, and said that this liberation and the election success would have a lasting impact on not only Turkey but also the entire Middle East.
'Negotiations must begin at once'
KJA stated that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan inspired HDP’s election victory by his proposal to enter the elections as a party. KJA described the Rojava women’s revolution as its source of morale, hope, and strength. KJA said that women did not only turn their backs to AKP-led patriarchy and bigotry but also tore down the election threshold that had been violating democracy and freedom.
KJA called for the immediate beginning of the negotiation process and reminded that Öcalan’s freedom and security is vital because he is the chief negotiator. Lastly, KJA called on women to get more involved in the coalition debates and the drafting of a new constitution in Turkey.
