NEWS DESK (DİHA) - Women in Turkey's several province took to the streets last night in memory of 18-year-old Cansu Kaya, in a province where four women have been killed in the first 18 days of June alone.

Women marched to condemn the killing and rape of Cansu Kaya and the wave of femicides in Turkey. Kaya became the 144th woman killed in Turkey so far in 2015. The very next day, Arzu Köse(shot by her husband) became the 145th.

Kaya, who waited tables in the town of Ortaca, disappeared from work one day. She was found three days later. She had been sexually assaulted, killed, kept in a freezer for two days and then thrown in a canal.

"We want an aggravated life sentence for the killers of women. We want an end to the good behavior sentence reductions for killers of women. We will not be missing one more," said Dilek Bulut, of the local Karya Women's Association, speaking after the march. Women called for signatures for a signature campaign against femicide in Turkey that has gained 1.1 million signatures so far.
