Election frauds across Serhat region in North Kurdistan

NEWS DESK (DİHA) - Hundreds of thousands of voters went to ballot booths in Serhat today. From unstamped ballot envelopes to the expulsions of HDP election observers, a wide range of election frauds happened across Serhat region.

From unstamped ballot envelopes to the expulsions of HDP election observers, a wide range of election frauds happened across Serhat region. AKP administrators and parliamentarian candidates have also been pressuring voters in Serhat.

109 votes invalidated in Iğdır due to lack of envelope stamps

109 votes from the ballot box numbered 1122 in Iğdır Anatolian High School were invalidated due to the lack of envelope stamps. HDP Legal Commission presented an official objection to the Provincial Election Committee.

HDP observers expelled in Kars

Selim district’s governor expelled HDP observers in the Oluklu village of Kars. AKP mayor of Susuz district Cengiz Yıldız sat next to the ballot box numbered 1005 in Susuz and pressured voters as they cast their votes. 3 people were arrested for attempting to vote on behalf of other people in Kars city center. AKP’s Akyaka mayor Ümit Karaaslan was caught by HDP observers as he pressured voters by the ballot box numbered 1001 in Akyaka.

2 ballot boxes in Ağrı lacked requried YSK stamps

Ballot boxes numbered 1031 and 1032 in the Oklavalı village of Ağrı’s Eleşkirt district lacked the required YSK stamps. 150 voters had cast their votes by the time this mistake was noticed and voting was paused for some time. IHD representatives contacted the District Election Committee and voting resumed after the two ballot boxes were finally stamped.

AKP members threaten people of Muradiye

Armed AKP supporters attacked voters in the Keçikıran neighborhood of Van’s Muradiye district. HDP observer Necibullah Sakıcı was taken under custody for entering the voting booth in Hacı Ömer Sabancı Primary School with his cell phone.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR PRESSURES VOTERS IN GÜRPINAR

Gürpınar District Governor Metin Yılmaz visited ballot boxes across the district to scold HDP observers and instruct police officers and soldiers. Yılmaz also pressured voters in Yaramış neighborhood so that they vote for AKP.

AKP PARLIAMENTARIAN CANDIDATE AND SOLDIERS PRESSURE VOTERS IN MALAZGİRT

AKP parliamentarian candidate Abdulselim Er and soldiers pressured voters in the Karahasan village of Muş’s Malazgirt district. AKP Muş parliamentarian Muzaffer Çakar told woman voters to go back to their houses so that their husbands could cast votes on their behalf. When HDP observers objected to this call, gendarme forces got involved which further escalated the tension.

BİTLİS

Although the total number of registered voters in Bitlis’ Xumaç (İçgeçit) village is 86, 34 sergeants cast their votes here which brought the total number of votes to 120. None of these soldiers were registered to vote in this village and HDP lawyers are filing an official objection to this fraud attempt.

GÜROYMAK

Several men have voted on behalf of their wives in the Mişaxşin (Değirmenköy) village of Bitlis’ Norşin (Güroymak) district. AKP’ Güroymak mayor Öztürk Ögüç has been reported to visit ballot boxes across the district to take photos of and threaten HDP election observers.

MUTKİ

AKP members, village guards and gendarme forces attacked HDP voters in Mutki. AKP Provincial Council member Mehmet Reşit Acun and chief village guard Kenan Kaya organized and implemented the attack.

AKP members, village guards and gendarme forces threatened HDP election observers with guns and forced them to leave the ballot boxes set up in Merment (Dağarası) village located in Bitlis’ Mutki district. HDP officials from Mutki arrived at the crime scene but were met with the chants of “We don’t want HDP/PKK here”.

AKP Provincial Council member Mehmet Reşit Acun and chief village guard Kenan Kaya organized the chanting crowd and attacked the HDP officials from Mutki who were also forced to leave the village.

Voting in Merment (Dağarası) village continued without the presence of HDP observers and the chief village guard is reported to be the brother of Sergeant Ali who had bombed Umut Bookstore years ago.
