Worker dies at Istanbul metro consturction site
ISTANBUL (DİHA) - A worker died at the construction site of a new Istanbul metro line.
Adil Kolukısaoğlu, 32, died at the construction of the Mecidiyeköy stop of the metro line that aims to connect Istanbul’s central exchange hub to the seaside neighborhood of Kabataş. The groundbreaking ceremony of the metro line had been held by Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş on May 21, only one day before the accident.
Kolukısaoğlu was allegedly sitting to the side of a heavy construction machine near the Mecidiyeköy stop area when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. The machine operator did not realize Kolukısaoğlu had fallen and drove over him, causing his death.
