Bird flu will affect negatively tourism this year

MERSİN (DİHA) -Prof. Dr. Tahir Aksoy said that with the epidemic of bird flu 50 percent decrease in the production poultry, and 95 percent decrease in the consumption has been experienced. Aksoy who said that bird flu will affect tourism too said that '' 50 percent decrease is expected this year in tourism''



The meeting of '' Bird flu and problems of sector of poultry'' which is arranged by Mersin Agriculture Province Directorate and VILSAN Veterinarian Medicines Corporation was realised in Agriculture Province Conference Room.



Prof. Dr. Tahir Aksoy who talked in the meeting by saying that bird flu was exaggrated by media in Turkey said that many illnesses which take more live than bird flu were overlooked. Aksoy who touched to damages of said epidemic to sector of poultry said that the production after the epidemic 50 percent and consumption 95 percent has decreased. Aksoy who said that the crisis in the sector did not only hit the pultry but affected other sectors too said that '' Other sectors were affected too. As an example 50 percent decrease is expected in tourism this year.''



Aksoy who said that for crisis to be overcomed media should behave more sensitively proposed that:




'' The arrangements made to protect the producers should be made also for consumers. With directing individuals who have technical qualifications, quality and consciousness, this problems will be overcomed.
