İSTANBUL (DİHA) - Police have attacked United June Movement (BHH) members protesting Turkish Parliamentary Speaker’s statement saying secularism must be removed from constitution.

Against Turkish Parliamentary Speaker İsmail Kahraman’s statement saying secularism must be removed from constitution, United June Movement (BHH) members have gathered on Bahariye Street. Shouting slogans “we will win by resisting”, “shoulder by shoulder against fascism”, “reactionaries go away, this country is ours” hundreds of people wanted to march towards Altıyol Square. However, preventing the march police have attacked with pressured water, gas bombs and plastic bullets. Dispersing to the side streets the group has gathered at Mehmet Ayvalıtaş Park and issued a press statement. After the statement the protest has ended.
