Academics released
İSTANBUL (DİHA) - Academics who were arrested for signing peace declaration have been released.
The first trial of arrested academics Assist. Prof. Dr. Esra Mungan, Assist. Prof. Dr. Meral Camcı, Assist. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Kaya and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kıvanç Ersoy who had been sued for signing “We will not be a party of this crime” declaration of Academics for Peace group has been conducted before İstanbul 13th High Criminal Court. After their defense, prosecutor who has issued his opinion, demanded continuation of detention. However after the break, prosecutor, changing his opinion, has demanded their release in case of file delays.
After lawyers' defense, the court has decided for the academics’ release. The hearing has been postponed till April 27.
