Political prisoners in Siirt on hunger strike
SİİRT (DİHA) - PKK (Kurdistan Worker's Party) and PAJK (Kurdistan Women's Liberation Party, Partiya Azadiya Jin a Kurdistan) prisoners in Siirt E Type Closed Prison have gone on three-day hunger strike.
The hunger strike by political prisoners has been started to protest the siege in Sur, Silopi, Cizre and the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The statement by prisoners demanded an urgent removal of the isolation and siege in Kurdish towns, and called for public sensibility on the ongoing genocidal attacks of Turkish forces against civilian population in the Kurdish region.
