ANKARA (DİHA) - A credit contract of 450 million euro was signed with AYB (European Investment Bank) about the improvement of the suburb lines of Gebze-Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci-Halkalı, the second part of the Marmaray Project.

The contract that settles the 650 million euro credit agreement with European Investment Bank in 2004 September by insuring the remaining 450 million euro towards the partial finance for the improvement of Gebze-Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci-Halkalı Suburb Lines, the second part of the Marmaray Project after the under-the BosphorusTube part, was signed today. In the written explanation from the Treasury, the credit in question, together with the former 200 million euro slice, was said to be the highest amount ever of credit to be provided by AYB for Turkey. The maturity of the credit will be 30 years, 8 years not to be paid; the interest rate will be the rate of AYB's.
