Kurdish parliamentarians go to Kandil
HEWLER (DİHA) - Goran and Kurdistan Islamic Society Party parliamentarians are going to Kandil in order to inspect Zergelê village after the massacre the Turkish army carried out here.
Kurdistan Regional Parliament Human Rights Committee chair Soran Ömer stated that Goran Movement and Kurdistan Islamic Society Party were sending a delegation to Kandil after the massacre in which at least nine civilians lost their lives.
In his statement, Ömer noted the shameful stance of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on the Turkish army’s bombardment of Kandil, and said that officials have failed to condemn the crimes committed by the Turkish state.
Kurdistan Regional Parliament Human Rights Committee chair highlighted the importance of changing this stance and called upon the KRG president, government and prime minister to take a stance against the Turkish state. He said that the KRG’s silence provides Turkey with more excuses to attack Kurdistan, and called upon the parliament to convene and discuss the issue as soon as possible.
