ANKARA (DİHA) - HDP General Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş said, "These operations are carried out in favor of the government. We will struggle against AKP not to come power alone due to a snap election.”

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş reviewed air operations carried out by Turkish Armed Forces against PKK and ISIS in northern Iraq. “The interim government is warmongering now. We knew they would do mad things to be permanent with panic, we see it for the moment. Government of Justice and Development Party (AKP) has come to a total deadlock. They try to come to power alone with great panic," added Demirtaş.

“Each person you cause his death is our fellows. We share the grief without looking at their uniforms or political opinions. We won’t let our sons be killed in order to cover your dirt. Moreover, a corrupted interim government cannot call HDP to account," underlined HDP co-chair.

The Turkish army’s ongoing military operations in Iraq and Syria to crack down on terrorists was engineered by the Justice and Development Party (AKP), whose objective to regain its one-party government is dragging Turkey into a “civil war,” the leader of the HDP noted.

'AKP is dragging the country into a civil war'

“A temporary government with its temporary prime minister is dragging the country step-by-step into a civil war, regional war. Turkey has already been bogged down the Middle East quagmire because of wrong policies in Syria,” Demirtaş told reporters July 27, before a party meeting in Ankara.

He resumed his speech: “We have nothing to lose. We don’t have billions or protocol cars to lose. We are plain and we will be plain. You think your own fate. Interment flags cannot cover your sins. Fortunately, Turkey has HDP. The ones who see themselves as the master of the country while target HDP as the traitor should look at their own crimes."

'Peace was just one move ahead'

“We will struggle against AKP not to come power alone due to a snap election. Peace was just one move ahead. These operations are carried out in favor of the government. The death of young people unsettles us," said he.

'People who lick AKP’s boots should be questioned'

Demirtaş concluded, "Peoples open or close political parties. Fascist persons try to actualize a fascist policy. We have nothing to fear. If we had had, we wouldn’t have been in the parliament. People who lick AKP’s boots should be questioned.”
