YPG/J resuming operations against gangs in Rojava
NEWS DESK (DİHA) - YPG Press Office said in a written statement that Defense Units continued their operations in the ISIS-occupied areas to the south of Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava.
As a result of an operation started in this area yesterday, YPG/YPJ have taken full control of the Sirîn-Raqqa road side of the Maxaretên range which had been liberated the day before, and thus reseized the control of the Raqqa- Sirîn road.
YPG/YPJ have also gained control in Maxaretên range and the area between Serêkaniyê village and Sirîn town. The number of ISIS casualties left in fighting in this region couldn't be verified, according to the statement.
Heavy blow inflicted on ganfs around Ayn Îsa
The statement reported that forces affiliated to the cantons of Kobanê and Cizîrê continued their operations around the town of Ayn Îsa as part of the Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo which has entered its 61st day.
Sunday afternoon- the statement said- Defense Units destroyed a military vehicle of the gangs and damaged one other as they targeted a group of ISIS gangs on move on Girê Spî-Raqqa road. The number of casualties on ISIS side couldn't be verified.
YPG said that ISIS groups launched a fresh wave of attacks in the area between the west of Mount Kezwan and Ayn Îsa early this morning. The attack which was carried out with reinforcements gangs brought in from Iraq aimed to stop the advance of Defense Units in this region.
Gang groups have conducted suicide attacks with explosive-laden vehicles at three separate locations in the region between Ayn Îsa and Qantariye village, 35 km to the east of the town, early in the morning. The statement said that YPG/YPJ forces continue waging resistance in response to these suicide attacks and other attacks from various points, adding that the number of casualties on ISIS side in this region couldn't be verified.
The statement said that 6 fighters of the Defense Units have fallen fighting in this region.
Attack attempt from gangs
Gangs have attempted a simultaneous attack on the road between Raqqa and Cizîr canton located to the east of Mount Kezwan. Gangs infiltrated into this road from several different locations but were soon encircled in Alya, Salihiyê Edwan and Rehaniye Beggara villages. YPG/YPJ forces killed 4 gangs and lost 2 fighters during the clashes here.
Gangs repelled
In its statement, YPG also highlighted the ISIS attacks on Hasekê city center and said that gangs from Pira Spî located to the south of Hasekê attacked the city yesterday from two different locations. YPG/YPJ forces repelled this attack and forced the gangs to retreat, and the number of casualties and wounded people has not yet been identified.
YPG/YPJ forces carried out an operation on the gangs last night and liberated the strategic location of Pira Spî (Spî Bridge). 1 gang was killed during this operation.
Operation in Til Hemis
YPG/YPJ forces carried out another operation in the Xessan Junction located to the southeast of Til Hemis and destroyed an enemy vehicle here. The number of dead and injured gang members has not yet been identified.
