Firstly military posts, now 'cottages of security'
MARDİN ( DİHA ) - Turkish army has begun to construct "cottages of security" after building military outposts almost everywhere in Kurdistan.
According to local sources, Turkish army has begun to construct "cottages of security" in and around Ilısu Dam which will drown Hasankeyf and lots of other historical sites. The first cottages have been built in Dargeçit (Kerboran) district of southeastern province of Mardin.
The Turkish troops constructed over 20 military posts around the dam between 2006 and 2007 in order to provide the security of the dams. Now, the army is seizing the private-registered lands of the locals.
Human shield action against cottages
Some surveillance cameras have been located in the private-registered lands of DBP (Democratic Regions Party) Dargeçit District Executive Osman Alan beforehand, now the army has begun to construct "cottages of security" there. Alan said he would not let the army to seize his private-registered lands.
There is no solution process, indicated Alan. He added, "The state is preparing itself for war every other day. We will be human shield in order to inhibit the building of cottages of security".
