'We won't let them to sabotage the process in Roboski'

ŞIRNAK (DİHA) - Roboskî villagers marched towards Şerit Plateau in order to protest attacks and the bans on accessing plateaus. IHD Şırnak Branch Executive Lawyer Büşra Demir said Turkish state was trying to revenge for election results in Roboski, adding: "We won't let them to sabotage the process in Roboski".

Roboskî villagers marched towards Şerit Plateau in order to protest attacks and the bans on accessing plateaus. On June 29, villagers had set up barricades around the village in order to protest military deployment in the region. Soldiers had responded violently to this protest, injured 6 villagers and took 4 children under custody. On June 30, soldiers had killed 5 mules in the village and injured more by shooting at houses and barns.

Roboskî villagers organized a march to Şerit Plateau in order to protest these attacks as well as the bans on accessing nearby plateaus. Turkish warplanes bombed a group of villagers in Roboski village bound to Uludere district of Şırnak on 28 December 2011 and massacred 34 of them.

Human Rights Association (İHD) Şırnak Branch Executive Lawyer Büşra Demir said Turkish state was trying to revenge for election results in Roboski, adding: "We won't let them to sabotage the process in Roboski".

She underlined, "Turkish soldiers are attacking at people by saying allahuekber. They regard Roboski people as so-called enemy of religion. To pour salt into wound of Roboski people may cause dead loss. The incidents suffered in Roboski today is the practice of 2011's massacre. Roboski people will inhibit these provocations at any costs".
