Firstly isolation, then war steps in
ANKARA (DİHA) - The aggravated isolation ongoing on PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and intesified search of Turkish state for war cause more concerns every day. University students in Ankara said, "The state is using isolation as a tool for revenge and provocation. At each critical period, Öcalan is isolated and then war is being actualized".
Since the AKP government and international powers collaborated to capture PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in 1999, Turkey has aggressively pursued a policy of isolating the jailed leader in a high-security F-type prison on İmralı Island. With the government nearly freezing the peace process, the İmralı Delegation of opposition party and civil society leaders meeting with Öcalan as part of the peace process has now announced that they are being denied access to the island.
'Government is creating an environment of chaos'
The university students in capital city of Ankara reacted to the policy of isolation and demanded freedom for Öcalan. Ankara University Journalism Faculty student Vedat Pekgenç said, "The isolation is crime against humanity. An isolation policy on the leader of a people must be ended as soon as possible. This policy of isolation is not new. Tens of thousands of political prisoners went on a hunger strike in 2012. Then, the government stepped back".
He warned that the isolation was motive for uprising, adding that the government was aiming at an environment of chaos.
'State is using isolation as tool for provocation'
Communication Faculty student Atiye Eren underlined, "The government is trying to isolate him from the Kurdish people. The isolation is a policy denying the will of all the Kurdish people. So, the people of Kurdistan must rise against this isolation".
'People knows how to reach its freedom'
PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan has a vital and crucial role for the freedom struggle of Kurdish people, said student named Mustafa Köksal. "The state must notice its cruelty on Kurdish people from now on. I hope the people will reach its freedom through a democratic struggle. People knows how to reach its freedom," added he.
The applications of lawyers and families to meet with PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan have been declined since 27 July 2011. HDP’s İmrali delegation last visited PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 5 April since when he has not been allowed to receive visits.
The isolation means a regulation of denial, underlined Ankara Law Faculty student Deniz Çiftçi.
