YPG: Ezîziyê neighborhood, villages liberated

HESEKÊ (DİHA) - The YPG and YPJ forces have liberated Ezîziyê neighborhood and its eastern villages in Hesekê city of Rojava.

The fighters of the People’s Defense Units (YPG), combined with combatants from the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), launched a range of rescue operations last night in Ezîziyê neighborhood and its eastern villages, Hesekê city, Cizîr Canton of Rojava.

YPG/YPJ forces who were able to corner a number of the Daesh (ISIS) terrorists through an initial move, ultimately managed to rescue the vicinity and oust the attackers. Following the same actions, YPG/YPJ units could also liberate the villages of Maruf and Hamra in eastern Ezîziyê, as well as stetting a secure perimeter within the locality by controlling a strategically located square and the Khazil Factory compound.

Consequent to successful performance of the operation, along with the villages to the east, the Ezîziyê district was fully liberated from Daesh forces, as YPG/YPJ troops did retake an effective initiative for the region.
