KOBANÊ (DİHA) - 60 years old YPG fighter Karker Kobanê was massacred during the ISIS attacks on June 25-26.
60-years-old YPG fighter Karker Kobanê from Kocaeli was massacred during the ISIS attack on June 25-26. Karker Kobanê had recently spoken to journalist Rojin Akın and called on the world to join building the revolution in Rojava.
Kobanê had responded to PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s call on everyone to mobilize for Kobanê in 2014, and joined the civilians’ efforts to monitor the Turkish-Rojava border and prevent gang members from infiltrating into Kobanê.
Soon after, Karker Kobanê joined the YPG forces in Kobanê and volunteered to clear the town of unexploded bombs and landmines scattered all around.
Until his martyrdom, Karker Kobanê and his comrades successfully cleared more than 800 bombs, 200 grenades, and 4 tonnes of landmines in and around Kobanê city center.
