Fighters of YPG/YPJ fighters rescue 80 more hostages
URFA (DİHA) - Fighters of the YPG/YPJ and asayesh (public security) forces have rescued 80 civilians held hostage by ISIS gangs as a result of intense clashes in the wake of an operation launched by Kurdish forces in the neighborhoods of Mektel, Kaniya Kurdan and Şehid (Martyr) Moro after the bloody attack yesterday.
Operations of the YPG/YPJ and asayesh forces continue since yesterday's attacks launched by ISIS gangs after crossing into Kobanê from the Turkish side.
After detonating an explosive-laden vehicle at Mürşitpınar border gate at around 04.40 yesterday morning, ISIS gangs conducted attacks on the Kaniya Kurda neighborhood in city center, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) hospital, Botan neighborhood and Hacı Reshat Mosque.
Dressed in uniforms of FSA militants, ISIS gangs massacred dozens of civilians, the majority of whom was women, children and elderly.
According to unofficial figures, over 60 civilians were massacred by the gangs that also held many other civilians hostage to use as human shields.
Dozens of gang members have been killed in expansive operations launched by YPG and asayesh forces. The gang groups encircled in the neighborhoods of Mektel, Kaniya Kurdan and Şehid (Martyr) Moro were inflicted severe blows during the operations ongoing since yesterday.
80 civilians held hostage by the gangs have also been rescued. The operation of Kurdish forces continues.
