Êzidî MP Daxil: Each month thousands of Êzidîs leave Iraq
NEWS DESK (DİHA) - Kurdish Êzidi member of the Iraqi Parliament Viyan Daxil says that each month more than three thousand Êzidi civilians are leaving Iraq.
MP Daxil said that thousands of Êzidis have left for Europe as ISIS gangs remain in control of their homelands. “During the past few weeks, over 1,000 young Êzidis have headed west for Europe through Turkey. “We do not encourage anyone to emigrate, but at the same time we cannot stand in front of any citizen or Êzidi family making a decision relating to their life and future,” added Daxil.
The MP expressed regret that “many reasons are behind the recent wave of Êzidi emigration; the most prominent is the invasion of ISIS terrorists to their lands and the brutality the Êzidis face at the hands of ISIS militants.”
“The delay in freeing Êzidi areas like Shengal and Bashiqa has worsened the situation of Êzidis in Iraq.” She noted that “as we warn of the risk of continued of Êzidi emigration, amounting to a few thousand a month, we call on the authorities to speed up the liberation of the remaining Êzidi areas from ISIS terrorist gangs.”
She asked International community and the countries to which Êzidis are migrating to them to provide them with the necessary humanitarian aid.
