Emphasis of 'Constituent Assembly' by KCK
NEWS DESK (DİHA) - KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-presidency has said in a written statement about the results of the June 7 elections that HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) has achieved a great success.
KCK stressed that all democracy forces in Turkey should interpret the results correctly, undertake more responsibility to fulfill its requirements, strengthen the alliance and crown the struggle with democratization in the country.
Describing the HDP victory as the victory of the merging of Turkey peoples with the Kurdistan people, KCK said; “The HDP victory is the accomplishment of the HDP-HDK project, the concrete form of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan's democratic nation project. It is the victory of our peoples fighting enemies of democracy in four parts of Kurdistan, Kobanê and Sinjar in the first place.”
KCK stressed that HDP's success is the victory of those fallen during the election campaign, the brave Kurdish people who defeated the plot in Ağrı and the martyrs of the Diyarbakır massacre.
Remarking that this victory was created by the peoples in Turkey who didn't give up in the face of all the bloody attacks during the election campaign, KCK commemorated all the martyrs fallen in this struggle and congratulated all peoples on the victory.
KCK also saluted and congratulated all the left-wing organizations, groups and democracy forces in Turkey that played a major role in the alliance formed by the Kurdish people with their forces for freedom, saying that the unity formed in Turkey has proved that this line must be pursued in order for the building of democratic Turkey and free Kurdistan.
Noting that political powers in Turkey, YNK and Goran Movement in the first place, have also played a major role in the success gained in elections, KCK said all social, ethnic and belief groups have also had a part in this victory by paving the way for a free and democratic Turkey.
KCK said various faith groups that have so far been oppressed and marginalized, such as Alevis, Êzîdîs, Syriacs and Armenians, have also played a major role in the HDP's success and acted as the main actors in the creation of a free and democratic living, undertaking a great responsibility in the advancement of the democratic culture.
Underlining that women have been the main actors in the achievement of this success, KCK said women have proved themselves as the spirit of the democratic revolution and freedom in Turkey by ensuring a unity around the HDP with a 40 percent rate of woman deputies.
KCK emphasized that the Kurdish people have doubtlessly proved themselves to be the key power in a democratic revolution in Turkey, and that the collapse of the AKP – which institutionalized itself as a new state for authoritarian and hegemonic mentality in Kurdistan- has been one of the most evident results of this election.
"The attitude of the Kurdish people has once again made it clear that Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan), the Kurdish Freedom Movement and HDP is the will and addressee of the Kurdish people, and that the Kurdish question can only be resolved through negotiations with the true addressee. They have shown how and with whom the Kurdish question could be resolved, and who their addressee and representative is."
KCK pointed out that the Kurdish people who proved that a democratic unity in Turkey could be achieved by the sense of democratic nation in HDP project have been the leading and driving force of this victory.
KCK said that; "This election victory is the ideological and political success of Leader Apo. It has laid it bare that the Leader can play his role even while under isolation in prison, and that his ideological and political influence can not be hindered in any way, no matter what the circumstances are."
"The basic truth revealed by this election is the realization by peoples of the fact that the idea of Leader Apo could bring along peace, freedom and democracy for Turkey, that Turkey's democratization cannot be set apart from the resolution of the Kurdish question", KCK said and underlined that in this regard, the isolation of Öcalan must be ended immediately and the resolution of all problems in Turkey, the Kurdish and Alevi questions in the first place, must be grounded on democratic Turkey.
KCK said the victory of the HDP was the victory of democracy forces, and that the primary duty in the achievement of democratization has been trusted to HDP which -it said- should therefore put forward a democratic program to build a democratic revolution in Turkey and ensure definite democratization, and mobilise all the democracy forces on the basis of this program.
The democratic alliance must be strengthened and crowned with democratization in Turkey, KCK added.
Noting that HDP's election victory has also defeated the political system created by the 12 September constitution, KCK underlined that the peoples of Turkey cannot be ruled with this rescinded constitution anymore, and that it was not an urgent need to make a democratic and libertarian constitution.
Turkey's parliament currently has the feature of a Constituent Assembly for involving, despite deficiencies, all ethnic, faith and political groups, said KCK, according to which works for a new constitution should be initiated and led with the sense of a Constituent Assembly in order to make peace and stability permanent and come up with a solution to all the problems in the country.
It is not only AKP but also the ISIS mentality and all political ideas and policies according it that has been defeated in this election, KCK said, noting that the defeat of AKP has also been the defeat of fascist gangs like ISIS and Al Nusra. "The dream of democratic revolution based on the sense of democratic nation will get efficient in the entire Middle East starting from Turkey. The mentalities and policies that choke peoples in ethnic and national conflicts will retrogress as a democratic nation era will begin to enable a together living of the various ethnic, religious, cultural and societal communities in the Middle East."
Strongly criticizing an AKP official's remarks that "HDP can only film the process of resolution from now on", KCK said this dangerous sense revealed the two-faced treatment of AKP towards the process as a political resolution to the Kurdish question now became crucial and inevitable now.
Remarking that national unity has now been achieved in Bakurê (North) Kurdîstan, KCK said the revealed apparency of the representative and addressee for the resolution of the Kurdish question has manifested how and with whom a solution could be achieved.
HDP's sense of democratic nation is a great chance for the resolution, KCK said, and called on all political powers to understand and interpret the results correctly and to fulfill its requirements.
