AKP members, village guards and gendarme attack HDP voters in Mutki
NEWS DESK (DİHA) - AKP members, village guards and gendarme forces attacked HDP voters in Mutki. AKP Provincial Council member Mehmet Reşit Acun and chief village guard Kenan Kaya organized and implemented the attack.
AKP members, village guards and gendarme forces threatened HDP election observers with guns and forced them to leave the ballot boxes set up in Merment (Dağarası) village located in Bitlis’ Mutki district. HDP officials from Mutki arrived at the crime scene but were met with the chants of “We don’t want HDP/PKK here”.
AKP Provincial Council member Mehmet Reşit Acun and chief village guard Kenan Kaya organized the chanting crowd and attacked the HDP officials from Mutki who were also forced to leave the village.
Voting in Merment (Dağarası) village continues without the presence of HDP observers and the chief village guard Kenan Kaya is reported to be the brother of Sergeant Ali Kaya who had bombed Umut Bookstore years ago.
350 votes cancelled in Iğdır
Ballot boxes with 350 votes have been cancelled in Iğdır due to the lack of appropriate stamps on the envelopes. Many of the cancelled votes were for HDP. According to Human Rights Association (IHD) sources, HDP observers had earlier been threatened and expelled from the ballot area before the boxes numbered 1129 and 1130 were cancelled in the Karaoğlan village of Ankara's Gölbaşı district.
Turkish state officials in Kurdistan work for AKP
State officials pressured HDP voters in Van and organized many election frauds. Several people were caught burning ballots in the bathroom of Hüsnü Yeğin Primary School located in the Yeşilova neighborhood of Van’s Erciş district. Observers informed the police and took these manipulators to Erciş police headquarters. People in Van protested the gendarme unit which entered a schoolyard in Bayramlı (Axsiraf) village, and managed to make this unit leave the election area.
Ballot box presiding officer Serkan Şen had a nervous breakdown when several civilians cast their votes openly in the village of Çetintaş (Zorava). Woman voters in Sulu neighborhood were paid to cast multiple votes in different ballot boxes.
Gürpınar District Governor Metin Yılmaz visited ballot boxes across the district to scold HDP observers and instruct police officers and soldiers. Yılmaz also pressured voters in Yaramış neighborhood to vote for AKP.
AKP supporters pressure and attack civilians
With the support of Turkish state forces, AKP supporters pressure and attack civilians in Kurdistan. Soldiers have seized ballot boxes in the Alatepe, Çobanbaşı, Elmalı and Yenibaşlar villages of Hamamlar district in Bingöl. AKP supporters attacked voters and injured 10 people in the Yüceler village of Siverek district in Urfa. Soldiers have stood nearby and did nothing to prevent the attack.
