Demirtaş: Only votes to HDP can damage AKP
DERSİM (DİHA) - "AKP government wants to take votes through election frauds and tricks from now on. It has not made any statements concerning election safety. Everything is clear, only votes to HDP can damage the AKP. Other votes cannot damage it mathematical," HDP General Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş spoke at his party's election rally in southeastern province of Dersim.
HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) General Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş addressed to tens of thousands of people at his party's election rally at Seyid Rıza Square in southeastern province of Dersim today. The massive crowds of people danced halays for hours and bore the flags of HDP.
'Historical resistance is required to be crown with victory'
Demirtaş said all the peoples of Dersim were marching towards freedom along with DHF, PARTİZAN, EMEP and DBP. "The struggle of Dersim is historical. It is neither transitory, nor tactical. This historical resistance is required to be crown with victory," he added.
Call not to abandon ballot boxes
Demirtaş warned his party’s members not to abandon ballot boxes until official results are announced. “You will never leave the polls on the evening of June 7 from the time the ballot boxes start to be opened until the official results are announced,” said Demirtaş.
'If you leave ballot boxes, you will give credit to thieves'
“You will not take to the streets for celebrations. Our party will not have an official celebration on the evening of June 7. If you leave the ballot boxes for the sake of celebrations then you will give credit to the thieves,” Demirtaş said, in references to possible voting fraud. “We will hold a celebration if we get a good victory on June 8.”
'TRT means AKP'
Demirtaş showed one photo from the racist attack towards HDP supporters in Erzurum province. "You see this photo. This is from the fascist attack in Erzurum. One of our friends has been wanted to be burnt alive. TRT has reported this as, 'Fierce reaction to propaganda of AKP'. TRT means AKP. The act of burning someone is reaction, but our rally is terror, so to say," Demirtaş criticized the state channel TRT.
