Tens of thousands at Erzurum rally despite racist attack

ERZURUM (DİHA) - Inspite of the attack by racist mobs, tens of thousands of people have flowed to HDP's election rally in eastern province of Erzurum.

Racist groups have attacked thousands of HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) supporters who are walking to the area where HDP’s Erzurum rally will take place today. Despite the racists’ provocation attempts, tens of thousands filled the rally area.

Racist groups attempted to provoke HDP supporters before today’s HDP rally in the city. As HDP supporters arrived at the rally area, racist groups gathered at the area’s entrance and began to chant against the HDP. Despite the nearby police barricade, racists insulted and threw stones at HDP supporters.

3 wounded in racist attack

Some HDP supporters responded to these racist attacks and tensions rose. Racist provocations continue as thousands of HDP supporters fill the rally area. Police and military forces have also been placed near the rally area.

Massive crowds ar HDP rally

Tens of thousands of people have flowed to the square and filled in the square. The youngs at the frontlines danced halays for hours and bore the flags of HDP, demanding "Freedom for Öcalan".

The crowds of people opened placards reading "Yes to Great Humanity" and banners supporting the "New Life" manifest of the party in the rally. The residents of eastern province of Erzurum have emotionalised with the election songs of the HDP. Tens of thousands bore posters of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and flags of PKK, KCK, YPG.
