ADANA (DİHA)
- PKK Leader Abdullah is under has been isolated by AKP government which has not fulfilled the requirments of Dolmabahçe Joint Agreement.

Since the Turkish government and international powers collaborated to detain PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) Leader Abdullah Öcalan in 1999, Turkey has aggressively pursued a policy of isolating the jailed leader in a high-security F-type prison on İmralı Island.

With the government nearly freezing the peace process, the İmralı Delegation of opposition party and civil society leaders meeting with Öcalan as part of the peace process has now announced that they are being denied access to the island.

The Imrali Delegation said few days ago that the AKP and Turkish President Erdoğan were intent on ending the peace process and starting conflict. The statement called on the AKP to abandon its policy of seeking war and condemned the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

'It's now cleat that AKP isn't sincere on solution process'

Human Rights Association (İHD) Adana Branch Co-chair Lawyer İlhan Öngör said the AKP government was trying to halt and inhibit the ascent of HDP through isolation of Imrali. "The remarks of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the election squares have made it clear that AKP isn't sincere on the solution process. To inhibit visitations of Öcalan's family and lawyers is illicit and undue," added the lawyer.

'AKP government is joking about peace process'

Contemporary Jurists' Union (ÇHD) Adana Branch Executive Barrister Şiyar Rişvanoğlu defined the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan as revilement and threat against the Kurdish people who accepted Öcalan as their leader. Rişvanoğlu remarked, "AKP government is joking about peace process."

'Leadership is red line of Kurdish people'

TUHADFED, a solidarity union of the prisoners' families, Adana Representative Mehmet Akar told, "Isolation policy is unhumane. We, as Kurdish people, never accept this. Erdoğan sacrificed the peace process to collect vote. The only obstacle before visits and talks is Erdoğan. The talks must be resumed as soon as possible. Leadership - pointing to Öcalan - is red line of Kurdish people".

Öcalan's lawyers criticized the statement that there is "no isolation," saying that they have not been allowed to have an official meeting with their client since 2011, a denial of his constitutional right to meet with his lawyers.
