Demirtaş: We will be at Kazlıçeşme on May 30th
NEWS CENTER (DİHA) - HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş stated that they will be holding the banned “Great Humanity” rally at Kazlıçeşme Square of Istanbul on 30 May.
Yesterday, Zeytinburnu District Election Board denied permission for the HDP rally set to take place at Kazlıçeşme Square on 30 May. The decision was grounded on the excuse that “the area is not included in the rally areas specified in the law no 2911”, while a statement by the Governor's Office said that the rally area was allocated to the celebrations to mark the conquest of Istanbul that day.
In a short statement on his Twitter account, Demirtaş said the problem regarding the rally has been settled, adding; “We will be in Kazlıçeşme at 15:00 the same day”, he explained.
