7th attack at HDP election office in Fındıklı
RİZE (DİHA) - The election office of the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) in Fındıklı district of Rize has been attacked for the seventh time despite the police standing guard outside.
A group of assailants who came to the scene in a minibus swiftly left the area after breaking the windows of the election office despite the policemen keeping guard outside it. HDP Rize Parliamentary Candidate Tugay Köse said that the attack which left the election office greatly damaged was carried out under the supervision of police, noting that this was the seventh fascist attack that has targeted the election office during the election campaign, the perpetrators of all of which were released after giving a testimony to police without being subjected to any punishment.
Köse argued that this attack was conducted by a fascist group who had also organized the last year's attack on a HDP stand before the presidential election. He added that this group was made up of criminals who were imprisoned for some time on charges of drug and arm trafficking.
Stressing that the relevant authorities took no action against the perpetrators that conducted attacks under police supervision, Köse vowed to keep their election campaign going uninterruptedly in spite of all attacks aimed at them.
