Demirtaş: We'll stop AKP since we love our country
İSTANBUL(DİHA) - Speaking in his party's people meeting in Istanbul, HDP General Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş said, "The AKP is suffering from power intoxication. AKP is going down like a lorry of which tyre has been exploded. We will stop the AKP since we love our country".
The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) held a people meeting at Umraniye Square in Istanbul today with the participations of thousands of people. The crowds of people danced halays for hours and bore the flags of HDP.
'Invitation to Great Humanity'
A great poster of Demirtaş and HDP General Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ reading "Invitation to Great Humanity" was hung to the platform. The mass often shouted the slogan of "Long live Leader Apo" and slogans in support of the HDP in the rally.
HDP provincal co-chairs Ayşe Erdem and Cesim Soylu saluted the mass, adding they would resume the election campaign within the spirit of general mobilization. Later, Demirtaş took the scene, saying they are going through a historical and crucial process ahead of June 7th general elections.
'Fortunately you are defending this garden'
HDP co-chair drew attention on the solidarity emotion of people remarked, "This joy of your solidarity will reflect in the general elections. And we will take streets at June 7th night in order to celebrate our historical victory. All the country needs peace. Fortunately you are defending this garden of peoples, HDP. This is the real photo of Turkey. Whoever trys to form the country in one colour, s/he will lose."
'We will never dictatorship in this country'
"The AKP is suffering from power intoxication. AKP is going down like a lorry of which tyre has been exploded. We will stop the AKP since we love our country. To criticize AKP is regarded as traitor. We want to live freely and in peace here. Whatever they defines, we will never dictatorship in this country. We will not let them to drag the country into a calamity. We will pass the election threshold," underlined Demirtaş.
'Women are lifeblood'
Demirtaş called on women "you are lifeblood" and added, "Half of the society is yours. But, they always denied you. They defined the equality between man and woman as sin". Demirtaş said the country was not a poor one. "Our country is full of sources. This is one of the richest country of the world. But there are millions of unemployed. This is not destiny, but bamboozlement and knavery. You are producing, but they are eating."
HDP co-chair saluted the resistance of metal workers on the strike in western province of Bursa.
