Mahabad to remember Ferinaz every Thursday
NEWS CENTER (DİHA) – The people of Mahabad have announced that they will organize weekly visits to the grave of Ferinaz Xosrawanî.
Ferinaz Xosrawanî's death sparked riots in the Kurdish city of Mahabad after it emerged that she had fallen from the fourth story of the hotel where she worked while attempting to escape a rape attempt by an Iranian intelligence officer.
Now, the people of Mahabad have announced that they will organize a weekly Thursday evening visit to leave flowers on Ferinaz's grave.
They will also dedicate their trip to honoring others who have died in previous serhildans (uprising or intifadas) in Eastern Kurdistan, the Kurdish region of Iran.
Eastern Kurdish people in other cities have announced that they will also organize weekly Thursday visits to their graveyards to honor their own martyrs in previous serhildans.
