Women march at borderline for Xosrawanî
VAN (DİHA) - Kurdish women protested at the border between Iran and Turkey in an action condemning the Iranian regime's role in the death of Ferinaz Xosrawanî, who died nearly two weeks ago in the Kurdish city of Mahabad, Iran.
Ferinaz Xosrawanî, a young Kurdish woman working at the Tara Hotel in Mahabad, died attempting to escape a rape attempt by an Iranian intelligence officer on the fourth floor of the hotel, fleeing via the balcony. The Congress of Free Women (KJA) held a sit-in at the Saray Kapıköy Border Gate, at the international border that divides the northern and eastern parts of Kurdistan.
The women dedicated the action to "all female comrades who struggle to defend their dignity and who end their lives fighting state and male terror." Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) politicians and officials attended the action.
