NEWS DESK (DİHA) - The KJA Coordination has visited Peace Envoy and sick prisoner Aysel Doğan. Doğan called for solidarity with Kobanê and Sinjar and election campaigning to be stepped up. Doğan said the campaign should be carried on for all sick prisoners, not just for her.

HDP Batman MP Ayla Akat and İpekyolu Co-mayor Aygül Bidal, as the KJA Coordination, visited Aysel Doğan, who has cancer, in the Zekai Tahir Burak Research hospital. Following the visit they said Doğan would soon begin chemotherapy, and that she had urged people to show solidarity with women who had come from Sinjar and to join efforts to reconstruct Kobanê.

'If I was outside I would do my utmost for the election campaign!'

They said Doğan had stressed that everyone should concentrate on the election campaign and was angry that the government had not taken steps regarding sick prisoners, adding that a campaign needed to be waged for all sick prisoners.

'If nothing is done, more than 500 coffins will come out of the prisons'

Ayla Akat made a statement after the visit, saying: "According to the IHD there are more than 500 sick inmates. Our leader says that every sick person has the right to say goodbye to their loved ones, but this right is not recognised to the prisoners. The state is not acting responsible in this matter. As the KJA we will step up the campaign and demand that all sick prisoners are released immediately. We wish them all a speedy recovery.”
