Academician candidates: HDP is hope and chance for Turkey
İSTANBUL (DİHA) - The academician candidates of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) said that the HDP was hope and chance for all Turkey.
Out of the 550 seats in the parliament, nominees for 268 of them have been allocated to women by the HDP as one of the party’s priorities is gender equality. The HDP list, which include members of ethnic and religious minorities, academicians and human rights defenders in high numbers, present a portrait of the "other Turkey" not seen in those of the two mainstream parties. The party hopes to present its most serious challenge yet against the ruling AKP in Turkey's June election.
Odabaşı: HDP is a chance

İstanbul Aydın University Education Sciences Faculty Assistant Professor Battal Odabaşı. The HDP has nominated Odabaşı in Konya province to run for the elections. Odabaşı said, "Turkey will be either defeated in this crisis, or it will deepen into it. HDP is the only to exceed this crisis. Change is a need for the society. The HDP has a list which is the portrait of all the peoples in Turkey. HDP's list is the cadre to democratize Turkey."
Temelli: I'm inviting everyone to undermine this threshold
Another academician deputy candidate of the HDP is Sezai Temelli. Temelli is an assistant professor at Istanbul University Political Sciences Faculty. He is a deputy candidate of the HDP in Istanbul's 2nd region. "This will be election of all of us," said Temelli and added, "The HDP has initiated the most important phase of democracy in the country. The party has representatives from all the ethnic and religious minorities in Turkey. I am calling on everybody to commonize for elections. I'm inviting everyone to undermine this threshold".
Yıldırım: HDP will close road to dictatorship
Prof. Dr. Kadri Yıldırım has been nominated by the HDP in eastern province of Siirt. "There are members of each language, religion, culture, belief, fraction and minority in the list of HDP. The list of HDP is the portrait of an 'otherized country'. The upcoming 7 June elections is historical for the peoples in Turkey. The HDP will close road to dictatorship. This will lead to democratization of the country," underline Yıldırım.
