Alfatlı: I'll resume struggle at path of Comrade Öcalan

MANİSA (DİHA) - The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has nominated Ali Alfatlı in Manisa to run for parliamentary elections.
Out of the 550 seats in the parliament, nominees for 268 of them have been allocated to women by the HDP as one of the party’s priorities is gender equality. The HDP list, which include members of ethnic and religious minorities in high numbers, present a portrait of the "other Turkey" not seen in those of the two mainstream parties. The party hopes to present its most serious challenge yet against the ruling AKP in Turkey's June election.
Within this portrait of the HDP, one of the attractive candidates is Manisa candidate Ali Alfatlı. Alfatlı was one of the pioneering names of the socialist struggle in 1970s and was Central Committee member of Revolutionary Path (Devrimci Yol). He conducted struggle with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and PKK's late piooneering cadres Haki Karer and Kemal Pir.
'We acted together with Öcalan'
Alfatlı met the revolutionary struggle during his university years and was imprisoned in notable Mamak Prison. The HDP has nominated Ali Alfatlı in Manisa to run for parliamentary elections. Alfatli says, "I met Öcalan firstly during a work of youth. Öcalan and I were sued together when we protested Kızıldere massacre at the university. We were pioonering the works of youth. We struggled together. We acted together with Öcalan at that time. Our political envisages were all true at that time."
Alfatli underlines that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan should be released from prison and adds, "I want Öcalan to be freed immidiately. All the political prisoners must be released".
'I will resume struggle at HDP'
Alfatli evaluates the current political atmosphere and states, "The only way to downgrade the AKP is the HDP. Whoever struggles against capitalism today, he or she should support the HDP. I conducted struggle along with Öcalan. I will resume the struggle at my comrade's path. I will resume struggle at HDP".
He has called on all the peoples, democratic powers and oppressed to vote for the HDP.
