Yüksekdağ: We're calling on women to emprise politics
ANKARA (DİHA) - HDP, DTK, HDK co-chairs and co-spokepersons want women to take part in politics actively and call on them to "apply to HDP".
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) General Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, Democtratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Selma Irmak and Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-spokeperson Sebahat Tuncel hold a press meeting at the general center building of HDP in Ankara and call on women to apply to nomination candidacy. Speaking at the meeting, Yüksekdağ notes, "The relation of exploitation enforced on women is behind all historical and social matters. Male dominant associations and foundations are blocking out right and freedom demands of women. Violence towards women have increased recently. Three women are massacred every day."
'Excluding HDP, all are male parties'
Yüksekdağ draws attention that exluding HDP, all the political parties have become male parties and adds, "HDP, in its equal representation form, disintegrates from other parties. We are holding a historical march to enhance role of women in the politics for the upcoming general elections. We are calling on women to emprise politics as there is an urgent need for women."
'Let's build New Life'
Our call is the call to build the New Life, underlines DTK Co-chair Selma Irmak. She tells, "We are inviting you to tear down the life in the colour of death. This is call to rise against pain, rape, abuse, violence, and male deeds. We want to lay waste to this socail agreement which is without us. We want to sign a new agreement with women. We want to rebuild the social life together at the base of equal representation in each sphere of life."
