'YPJ has created a new soul for women'
URFA (DİHA) – Italian Lorenzo Trapani and twins Marta and Sara Collot came to Kobanê border and attended the action of vigil. They stated that Kobanê resistance is a war against the capitalist system.
While Kobanê resistance against Daesh continues on its 134th day with the leadership of YPG/YPJ, many people from different ethnicities and religions, and identities come from all around the world to greet the resistance. Italian Lorenzo Trapanı, Marta Collot and Sara Collot came to Miseynter village to both show solidarity with Kobanê resistance and join the action of vigil.
'Humanity is defended here in Kobanê'
Being a part of the solidarity group in the village, Trapani and Callot twins greet YPG/YPJ fighters every morning in the human chain formed in the village. Talking about the reasons of their visit and about Kobane resistance, Trapani and Marta Collotsupported that humanity is defended here in Kobanê.
'Kobanê is a war against capitalism'
Lorenzo Trapani pointed out that there are many people from all around the world coming to Kurdistan to defend Kobanê and noted, “Kobanê resistance is important for the world. Many people all around the world from different political groups, beliefs, religions, and ideologies came here. We also came from Italy to be part of this resistance and feel its spirit on the ground”. Trapani resumed, “Kobanê is an international resistance and a very important experiment”. Seeing the war on the field is a different experience said Trapani and continued, “We see that the same resistance and the state of organization in Kobanê happens here as well. This resistance Kobanê is not only against Daesh, but also against the repressive system in Turkey”.
‘YPJ defends values of humanity’
One of the twins Marta Collat also talked about her visit, “This visit pertains to conscience for us. YPG/YPJ fighters’ fight against backwardness is invaluable for us”. She further added that YPJ women deserves to be on the world’s agenda and expressed that, “Especially the fight by YPJ women has created a enormous respect in me towards them. Patriarchal and capitalist systems pushed women backwards, but YPJ has created a new spirit for women. YPJ does not only support women, but their own space and the values of humanity”.
