VAN (DİHA)
- Woman named Sönmez Tulan (23), who had been hit by her former husband Ramazan Yalav with long barreled weapons and wounded seriously in Başkale district of Van on 28 October 2014, was discharged from hospital following one-week treatment in Van Regional Research and Training Hospital Intensive Care Unit.

Tulan was exposed to attack and violence by her former husband twice within a year. She has applied to officials for times as she has been threatened. Her demand of 'bodyguard' has remained resultless along this time. Tulan can not go to her village as her former husband is still jailbreak. Woman has no life safety and therefore she lives in fear. Escaping death twice, woman is being protected with a phone tragicomically.

'I live in an open prison'

Police officers are calling for once in 10 days and ask: "How are you? Has you got any problems? Where are you?". Just like her mother, 7-aged Susem cannot go to school on grounds of her father. Tulan, along with her family, have taken shelter in rental apartment as the Van Metropolitan Municipality have paid 5-months wage of rent.

Women named Tulan stated the state was ridiculing her with such a so-called protection and added: "I demanded bodyguard from the state after being hit by my former husband. Police calls me once in 10 days. How a protection is this? If man comes and kills me here, who will inhibit this? State does not protect me. We cannot go out anymore. I live in an open prison."
