Female inmates in Şakran Prison: We have no life safety
İZMİR (DİHA) - Woman prisoners in Şakran Woman Prison stated in a letter that they have opposed to naked search, and then have been battered by the prison guards. Female prisoners told about right violations and applications of torture towards them.
Some woman prisoners opposed to naked search, which was instructed by prison officials, in Izmir Aliağa Şakran Woman Prison. Resisting against arbitrary application, the woman prisoners were battered by the prison guards. One of the prisoners Fikriye Çakmak's 2 fingers were broken and she was not given a health report. Sick prisoner Behiye Akbalık, whose one kidney was taken few days ago, is among the battered woman prisoners.
'Everything may happen to us at any time'
Female prisoners underlined in their letter: "They applied almost each type application over us in this prison. Even tough we demanded talks with the prison administration, they declined this and applied torture on us. They punished us for times and times. We have been put in solitary cells. When time of release has come, they are extenting our jail sentence arbitrarily and illegally. Everything may happen to us at any time. We have no life safety here."
