People in Yüksekova showing interest in its school

- The new term of education-teaching beginning on 15 September, will be boycotted along one week in Yüksekova (Gever) district of Hakkari where act of school and course boycotting is widespread in the recent years.

The construction of 5-storey school is going on. This new school will provide education in Kurdish within the pioneering of TZP-Kurdî (Kurdish Language and Education Movement) to force the state to lift the obstacles in front of education in mother tongue. All the expenses of school and construction are provided by the village communes, neighbourhood assemblies and people. Applications are resuming for the school.

'We'll never make concessions from education in mother tongue'

TZP-Kurdî Yüksekova Executive Aydın Koç stated that the most important part of Democratic Autonomy is education study. Koç said: "2014-2015 education-teaching year will be boycotted in Gever just like in Kurdistan and Turkey. Up to now, over 100 applications were recorded. We will defend these gains which we have attained via costs of freedom movement. Kurds are beginning to life with a new clear page. We are alternative to the schools of system. Whatever the results will be, we will never make concessions from education in mother tongue."

'We'll support boycot hundred percent'

Kurdish Language Developping and Researching Union (KURDÎ-DER) Branch Head Deniz Bülbün gave information about school boycot and actions. Bülbün underlined: "It is honorary for us that our people is taking ownership of the new school. Especially, the economical contributions of village communes and neighbourhood assemblies vitalized us. The course of state will start on 15 September. We'll support school boycot one hundred percent. We will hold a massive march in Gever on 15 September from Gever Culture and Art Union to Directorate of National Education."
