VAN (DİHA) - The chairman of Muradiye Chamber of Trade Hüsamettin Aydoğdu pointed out that the artisans come to a point that they could not support themselves as a result of the unjust penalties of fiscal officers and money brokers.

According to the claims, the fiscal officers are giving tickets to the artisans and they are near bankrupt due to their depts. to money brokers. The chairman Aydogdu said many major businessmen lost their fortunes as they fell into the hands of money brokers.

'The finance committee is unjust'

"The finance committee is giving ticket under the name of rent withholding tax and infraction of rules. These unjust tickets are 250 YTL in minimum. The artisans have paid their taxes despite the limited facilities from 1999 to 2005. DAKP (Eastern Anatolia Development Plan), KOBIs and joint ownerships are receiving more tolerance. When you want to benefit from the incentives as a citizen you are prevented to do that whereas our artisans need help and convenience. But the conditions presented cause them to refrain rather than make use of the incentives." said he.

'The artisans are in trouble because of the money brokers'

Besides, he informed that the artisans have problems due to the money broker as well and added those:" While the finance committee treats them as such, Muradiye has been invaded by the money brokers. Majority of the artisans of Muradiye went bankrupt because of the money brokers. We will send an information paper about the situation to the Ministry of Domestic Affairs. So far we have sent many papers to the related institutions. Besides, we made important efforts for the executives of the county

to take precautions but no improvement has been achieved. When the artisans are under financial problems they fell into the hands of money brokers with the help of go-between persons.

'Their daughters are taken'

"After a while all their possessing are taken from them when they could not afford anymore. Many inexplicable events have experienced so far in the county. Some of the money brokers take the little daughters of the artisans.. They neither show respect to laws nor do judical rules because many of chiefs are also know them and they do not prevent these kinds of activities. Pawn broking is getting bigger and bigger." said Aydogdu.

'If steps are not taken, the county will be empty'

On the other hand the artisans are quiet uneasy about the situation. One of the artisans who did not want his name to be explained stated that if the officials do not take necessary steps the county will be emptied and said: "Pawn broking invaded the county. We are anxious about the future of our county. We do not understand why the officials do not prevent the unjust applications. Although pawn brooking is illegal, the money brokers are in comfort. Many artisans immigrated from here because of these problems. The officials should prevent the problems as required by law."
