TUSIAD takes part in the “Mediterranean Project” in Italy 2006-02-17 21:42:01 ISTANBUL (DIHA) - TUSIAD Board Director Omer Sabanci will go to Italy for the “Mediterranean Project” by Union of the Confederations of Mediterranean Entrepreneurs, of which he is the director and the Confederation of Italian Industrialists. Association of Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen (TUSIAD), the Confederation of Italian Industrialists (CONFINDUSTRIA), the equivalent of TUSIAD in Italy, and the upper organisation of the Mediterranean Business World UMCE, directed by TUSIAD Board Director Omer Sabanci will start the “Mediterranean Project” in Palermo, Italy on 20-21 February 2006. In the extent of the project where Italian firms and member firms of the business world associations representing Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Malta, Philistine, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey which are members of the Union of the Confederations of Mediterranean Entrepreneurs (UMCE), are invited, there will be a forum called "Strengthening the Investment Relationships between the Mediterranean Countries", bilateral business interviews and gatherings between the Italian and Mediterranean firms. In the meeting where there will be the economy bureaucrats and media representatives, Director of Turkish Union of Banks Ersin Ozince will give information about the Turkish Finance Sector, Deputy Permanent Undersecretary of the Treasury Cavit Dagdas will lecture about the Encouragement of Foreign Capital in Turkey. The meeting, which will be held with the support of Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Italian Trade Commission and Italian Ministry of Industry, aims to support the economic and commercial relationships of the countries in the south and north of the Mediterranean Sea, with the a partnership to be set up by representatives from the business world.
