Another woman massacred by state forces in Cizre 2015-12-31 17:24:24 ŞIRNAK (DİHA) - Turkish state forces continue attacking civilian areas with heavy arms in Cizre district of Şırnak. 50-year-old Hediye Erden remained stuck in a relative's house in Yafes neighborhood as it was targeted by artillery fire yesterday evening. The woman got wounded after a cannon shell hit the house during intensified attacks by state forces. The woman is reported to have died of blood lose as she couldn't be taken out of the house due to gunfire. The woman's body will reportedly be taken to Şırnak State Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Speaking about the ongoing atrocity by Turkish military and police forces, HDP Şırnak MP Faysal Sarıyıldız called for an urgent end to the curfew in order for these mass killings to end. “While bodies of slain civilians remain on streets and cannot be retrieved for days because of state terror, Prime Minister says they killed no civilians. If these civilians are being killed by PKK, then why do police forces not allow people to receive their bodies, and shot them while attempting to do so? It is quite explicit who is killing the civilians here.” A total of 26 civilians have been killed by state forces during the last 18 days of curfew. (nt)
