KCK: It is time to take serious steps, negotiations 2015-07-20 15:41:55 NEWS CENTER (DİHA) - KCK stated that AKP ended the two and a half years-old ceasefire with its isolation of "Leader Apo" and implementation of psychological warfare. KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency stated that AKP had never respected the two and a half years-old ceasefire and decided to end it with its isolation of "Leader Apo" - PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan - and implementation of psychological warfare. KCK noted that AKP ended the ceasefire a while ago when Tayyip Erdoğan rejected the Dolmabahçe agreement and decided to implement the isolation of "Leader Apo" three and a half months ago. KCK said that it was not the time to call upon guerillas to abandon their arms, but to negotiate and take serious steps for the solution of the Kurdish issue. ‘Many chances were given for a solution’ In its written statement, KCK said that the Kurdish Freedom Movement gave the Turkish state many chances for a solution and the majority of these ceasefires took place during AKP’s term in power. However, KCK noted that AKP used these chances for winning elections and referendums and deepened the conflict. KCK stated that this approach put Turkey in a politically difficult spot and Leader Apo responded to the state’s call for a ceasefire positively, believing that the AKP government was no longer seeking a result through war and conflict. KCK recalled that AKP had made a commitment for making constitutional and legal changes for the solution of the Kurdish issue if guerillas made a ceasefire and began to withdraw from Turkey. In response, KCK stated that it began to withdraw guerrilla forces on May 8 and bring them down to Medya Defense Zones. KCK noted that AKP never implemented the changes it had promised and showed that it had no intention to solve the issue through Bülent Arınç’s statement that the PKK could ‘go to hell.’ 'Dolmabahçe agreement was publicized' KCK stated that the Dolmabahçe agreement was publicized on February 28 as a result of the meetings between "Leader Apo" and government officials. KCK emphasized that this was the first agreement that was publicized, and offered a framework for the negotiations. KCK said that Tayyip Erdoğan revealed his mentality by saying that there were no such things as the Dolmabahçe agreement, negotiations, nor the Kurdish issue at a time when the Dolmabahçe agreement had increased Turkish and Kurdish people’s hopes for the solution of the Kurdish issue and establishment of a permanent peace. KCK noted that peoples refused the policies of Tayyip Erdoğan and AKP in June 7 elections and supported the option of democratization and the solution of the Kurdish issue that "Leader Apo" and our movement had offered to the peoples of Turkey. KCK stated that the AKP government continued its old policies and ignored the Kurdish issue as if the election had never taken place. ‘Calls for disarmament and withdrawal aim to manipulate current agenda’ KCK emphasized that the AKP government and Tayyip Erdoğan called upon the guerillas to disarm and withdraw from Turkey in order to manipulate the current agenda, ignore the results of June 7 elections, and continue its policy of not solving the Kurdish issue. ‘It is time to take serious steps' KCK highlighted that it was no longer the time to call for disarmament but the time to take serious steps and negotiate for the solution of the Kurdish issue. KCK noted that there was no alternative method to end the conflict and similar issues from other parts of the world were never solved with methods such as the one AKP currently implements. ‘AKP’s isolation and psychological warfare ended ceasefire' KCK criticized the three and a half months-old isolation of "Leader Apo" who had established the ceasefire and offered his manifesto for a democratic solution in 2013, and said that AKP ended the two and a half years-old ceasefire with its isolation of "Leader Apo" and implementation of psychological warfare. KCK ended its statement by calling upon Kurdish people and the democratic forces of Turkey to resist the AKP manipulation of the current agenda, and organize and struggle for democratization and the solution of the Kurdish issue in Turkey.
