Tens of thousands bid farewell YPG fighter from Roboski 2015-07-02 18:02:56 ŞIRNAK (DİHA) - Tens of thousands of people bid farewell to YPG fighter Cemil Encü (Haydar Goyi) in his village Roboski. The body of the YPG (People's Protection Units) fighter Cemil Encü (Haydar Goyi) was laid to rest by tens of thousands of people in Robosli village bound Uludere district of eastern province of Şırnak. The fighter lost his life with clash with Daesh gangs in Kobanê city of Rojava on June 4th. Encü was from Roboski village where Turkish warplanes bombed a group of villagers and massacred 34 of them on 28 December 2011. Tens of thousands of people including Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) executives, Uludere co-mayors, Roboski families and activists of Peace Mothers Assembly joined the funeral ceremony. The massive crowd cursed Daesh barbaric gangs and their supporter President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan along the funeral ceremony. The flags of YPG, YPJ, HPG, PKK and posters of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and YPG fighter Encü were carried in the march towards the cemetery. The crowd frequently chanted "Long live resistance of YPG/YPJ", and "Martyrs are immortal" along the massive march. One minute silence was held in memory of all those who lost their lives in the struggle of freedom and democracy. The Kurdish national march "Çerxa Şoreşê" was sung. 'Kurdish people is marching towards freedom step by step' Speaking in the funeral ceremony, DBP Şırnak Provincal Co-chair Salih Gülenç said, "Kurdish people is marching towards freedom step by step through its heroes and martyrs. AKP government is supporting Daesh terrorists, and all the world witnessed this fact". The family of Encü thanked the participants and condoled the Kurdish people. In the wake of speeches, the funeral ceremony ended amid slogans of "Martyrs do not die". (nt)
