Sheik Sait commemorated 2015-06-30 10:58:37 DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - Democratic Society Congress (DTK) has issued a statement marking the 90th anniversary of the execution of Kurdish Leader Şex Said and his 40 fellows by Turkish state forces in Diyarbakir on 25 June 1925. DTK commemorated the victims and reiterated its respect for their struggle, and said the resistance spirit that has been inherited from the victims is today enlivened in Kobanê, Shengal and the whole Kurdistan. DTK recalled the execution of the leader of Kurdish rebellion and his 40 fellows in Diyarbakir on 25 June 1925, saying that the execution was carried out to throttle the freedom struggle of Kurdish people. DTK said the policies of denial, annihilation and assimilation carried out by the state over a century against the liberation struggle of Kurdish people has been put out of play by people's resistance, which reached its peak in Rojava. DTK said those who uphold colonialist policies have not drew any lessons from history and still are in attempt to repress the struggle for democracy and a dignified life. DTK recalled the attacks of ISIS gangs on Kurdish people in Kobanê, Heseke, Shengal and other parts of Kurdistan, stressing that the Turkish state provided logistic and ammunition support to the gangs. DTK said those who persist on these policies should be aware that the peoples of Anatolia, and primarily the Kurdish people, would not allow the continuation of these policies through the organisational level and consciousness that they have reached in their resistance. DTK lastly condemned all the massacres perpetrated against the will and liberation struggle of the people, and offered respect to all martyrs of Kurdistan in the names of Şex Sait and his fellows.
