Turkish warplanes bombed and massacred 34 Kurdish civilians, most of them children, in Roboski (Ortasu) village bound to Uludere district of southeastern province of Şırnak on 28 December 2011. While the Roboski families are searching for justice and perpetrators to be penalized, the AKP government is trying to cover the killers since 2011. AKP officials hung a banner of warplanes in the city, causing a great reaction in the public opinion. AKP billboard promised "local warplanes" the locals who suffered a massacre during the AKP ruling. The banner reading "We are constructting our own local warplanes" has been widely criticized in the city. 'It is an unacceptable situation' Roboski Solidarity Union Head Veli Encü defined the banner as unacceptable situation ecpecially for all the families and relatives of Roboski victims. Criticizing the AKP, Encü noted, "This is a revilement at Roboski families. This is remorselessness." Encü added, "We will not remain silent at this scandal. We do not need these warplanes. Such campaign promises of AKP will cause chaos. We condemn all these officials and warn them to remove it as soon as possible." Roboski families will hold a protest action in the city center tomorrow, he concluded. (nt)
