2 miners killed in Zonguldak and Osmaniye 2014-12-08 10:35:03 NEWS DESK (DİHA) - Hardly a day passes without a worker's death in Turkey where two miners have lost their lives today alone. 29-year-old miner Volkan Kurtoğlu has died as result of a collapse at an unlicensed mine in Kilimli district of Zonguldak province last night. The body of the miner who was rescued by teams dispatched to the scene by Turkish Hardcoal Authority has been taken to the Atatürk state hospital in Zonguldak for an autopsy. Another worker who survived the collapse without any injuries was on the other hand taken into custody by police. Investigation has been launched into the incident. One other miner, 41-year-old Cumali Tataş, was killed and another injured in the collapse of chrome mine in the Akyar village in the southern city of Osmaniye on Sunday. (nt)
