Defending the people and lands against jihadist groups, guerrilla forces are also trying to evacuate the people safely to Rojava and to end the humanitarian tragedy being witnessed in the region. Sherfeddin Tomb, one of the sacred spaces of Yezidi Kurds in Sinjar, which was also targeted by ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) gangs on 3 August, is under the protection of guerillas. A group of HPG (People’s Defence Forces), YPG (People’s Protection Units) and Sinjar Resistance Units members are keeping guard at the Sherafeddin tomb now. (nt)
